Where does YOUR organisation sit on the Quality Culture Ladder

Most construction people know that if you consistently get quality right your site teams will have less rework and a lot less safety incidents.

This is backed up by recent research by Love et al who found a 70% correlation between rework rates and safety incidents on an 8 year longitudinal study with a Tier One construction firm here in Australia.

Given this significant correlation between quality and safety consultancy Frontline Coach has adapted the excellent HSE Culture Ladder created by Patrick Hudson (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0925753507000227) to reference the kind of behaviours which might be exhibited at the various quality culture levels from Pathological to Generative (See the graphic above).

We would be interested to gain your feedback on the usefulness of this adapted model and where you think your partner construction firms currently sit on the ladder based on the behaviours you are witnessing.

We look forward to your comments.
